An "Ornatista" is a highly specialized ornament carver in the Italian marble carving tradition. During his apprenticeship in Italy, several traditional Ornatiste took Walter under their wing, teaching him their art. He now loves to incorporate that tradition of beautiful, intricate detail in his carvings, as you see in these timeless stone fireplaces. You probably noticed how very unique and personalized each of these mantel designs are.
